Information Technology (IT) is the application of technology to solve organizational and business problems. Information Technology is essential for a company to ensure the efficiency and security of information systems. Demand for professionals in Information Technology field is high and growing, and people entering the field have a range of career paths to choose from.

At GCEE, the department of Information Technology is committed to produce high profile, innovative IT professionals. The department has four well equipped software laboratories with around 100 computers and a hardware laboratory with all essential equipments. Internet facility is provided for the students in the software laboratories. The department is enabled with WiFi facility to access the internet.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

To train its students to identify, analyse, design and implement secured innovative Information Technology solutions for the real time applications.
To gain knowledge on specialized areas such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud computing, cyber security to prepare students to meet the business needs of industries.
To develop intellectually alert, scientifically progressive, globally competent and dynamic young IT professionals with team spirit and leadership skills.
To encourage the students to practice communication, problem solving and decision-making skills through the use of appropriate technology and with the understanding of the business environment.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

Build communications networks for a company, safeguarding data and information, creating and administering databases, helping employees troubleshoot problems with their computers or mobile device and ensure the efficiency and security of business information
Use computers, networks, storage, and other technical infrastructure both hardware and software, to deal with and manipulate information or data.
Identify, analyse, design, implement and deliver quality products with enhanced resource utilisation.
Work in cross domain projects and identify appropriate technology and tools to design and develop optimised solutions to meet the requirements of clients.
Discover and adapt to new technologies and offer the best products and services to clients.
Realize the need of ethics and human values and make positive contributions in the IT field and in turn the society
