Admission Quota

As per TNEA, 65% of admission for govt. quota admission is done and 35% of students are admitted under management councelling. A mere pass in HSC or its equivalent with the minimum average percentage in the relevant subjects or A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational Stream) prescribed for B.E Degree admissions or any other equivalent qualification approved by the State Board of Technical Education and Training / Higher Secondary Board of Tamilnadu / Anna University for Engineering Admissions.

Qualifying Examinations Marks (Maths - 100 marks, Physics + Chemistry- 100 marks) Total - 200 marks Cut off marks = 200 marks.

Minimum Level of Acceptance :-

For SC/ST Candidates, a mere pass in the qualifying examination. The minimum marks are same as the passing minimum for HSC of State of Tamilnadu. Candidates belonging to communities other than SC/ST should have obtained the following minimum average percentage..

Admission For HSC(Academic) and Equivalent Examination:-

  • For other than BC /BC(Muslim)/MBC&DNC /SC/ST - Other communities. A minimum of 55% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • For BC / BC(Muslim) communities. A minimum of 50% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • For MBC&DNC communities. A minimum of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Admission For HSC(Vocational) and Equivalent Examination:-

  • For other than BC /BC(Muslim)/MBC&DNC /SC/ST - Other communities. A minimum of 55% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • For BC / BC(Muslim) communities. A minimum of 50% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • For MBC&DNC communities. A minimum of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Admission Quota

University Departments / University Colleges of Anna University, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges and Arts & Science Colleges and Selffinancing Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges including stand­alone Institutions) in Tamil Nadu will be made through the TANCET exam conducted by Anna University.

In order to be eligible for the examination the candidates must fulfill the following criteria. The candidates must have cleared any one of the following Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field with a minimum of 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category)

Eligibility Criteria:-

  • B.E / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree programme.
  • Pharm. / B.Sc (Agri. / Forestry / Horticulture / Fishery) degree programme.
  • Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed.
  • Sc. (5 years) Integrated Degree Programme.
  • Sc. 3 years (Computer Science / Information Technology) and M.Sc. 2 years (Computer Science / Information Technology)
  • MCA (3 years) after 10+2+3 years bachelor’s degree.
  • MCA Lateral Entry (2 years) after 10+2+3 years degree in BCA or B.Sc.(Computer Science / Information Technology)
  • Candidates with 10+2+AMIE OR 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE are also eligible to apply.
